Through this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO), the National Cancer Institute (NCI) solicits applications from institutions/organizations that propose to maintain or establish Lead Academic Organizations (LAOs) as part of the NCI Experimental Therapeutics Clinical Trials Network (ETCTN). ETCTN LAOs will design, develop, monitor, conduct, and analyze early phase clinical trials (e.g., phase 0, phase 1, phase 2, pilot, and other experimental therapeutic clinical trials) involving agents under regulatory sponsorship for New Investigational Drug (IND) applications held by NCI's Division of Cancer Treatment and Diagnosis (DCTD), Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program (CTEP). Each ETCTN LAO will participate in clinical trials it leads as well as clinical trials led by other LAOs in the network.

Eligibility
Eligible Applicants:
Refer to Section III. Eligibility Information in the NOFO for additional information on eligibility.Eligible institution/organization for the purposes of this application is defined as an academic center/organization in the United States or Canada providing direct medical care to patients that is considered one integral organizational entity under a single financial management system and governance structure. A center/organization (e.g., an academic hospital and/or academic clinic program) for this application is distinguished from large medical centers whose primary mission is patient care. In addition to patient care, academic centers/organizations have comprehensive medical training programs, investigational pharmacies, advanced imaging facilities, and preclinical laboratories that perform basic research.The only Non-domestic (non-U.S.) Entities (Foreign Institutions) allowed in response to this NOFO are Canadian Institutions.Foreign Organizations/Foreign Collaborations:Non-domestic (non-U.S.) Entities (Foreign Organizations) are eligible to apply.Non-domestic (non-U.S.) components of U.S. Organizations are not eligible to apply.Foreign components, as defined in the NIH Grants Policy Statement, are not allowed.
